Can Feixes, Negre Tradicio 2015

The historic Can Feixes estate dates its winemaking roots back to the 1500s. Nestled in an incomparable setting on the slopes of the mountains north of the Upper Penedès wine region of Barcelona. It forms an ecological environment where the different crops and the varied vegetation interact completely in a perfect symbiosis between the cultivated and wild, thus reflecting the best expression of biodiversity in agriculture. Negre Tradicio 2015 is made from a blend of 45% Merlot, 30% Petit Verdot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon; the grapes were hand-harvested and aged in oak for 12 months prior to bottling. A rich nose of black cherry, plum, blackcurrant and oak moves to a rounded, polished palate with a little smoke and envelopingly fruity finish. A great wine to pair with red meats or mature cheese.
